This week, Emmy Medical entered into an investment agreement with startup studio TopMonks and a group of founding practices.

Virtual Sister Emmy Gets First-Time Investors

Since the end of last year, Emmy Medical has deployed its virtual nurse to more than 100 practices across the country, serving more than 300,000 patients. In the last three months, the number of practices with Emmy has tripled, and Emmy has helped practices handle over 80k patient requests so far.

Co-founder of Emmy Medical, Ondrej Sobotka, MD, commented:

"I am very pleased with the investment by TopMonks and our colleagues. They will help us accelerate Emma's development and bring new and better services to practices and their patients. The crisis period of COVID-19 has shown that changes to established practices are possible and can be beneficial for both medical staff and patients. Most importantly, Emmy has helped to resolve patient requests in a different way than through overloaded phone lines. At a time when everything else can be handled online, we still see a lot of room for improvement. Until now, only large clinics and groups could afford to invest in modern online communication with patients. But Virtual Nurse Emma is available to absolutely everyone, even the smallest practices."

As part of the investment, the company has also been renamed and so Emmy.md s.r.o. now bears the new name Emmy Medical s.r.o.
