Emmy's founders were preparing articles for the trade press over the weekend about their first experiences with Emmy's virtual sister.

The creators of Emmy could not believe with their own eyes

They had the statistics from the first week of 2021 displayed and set about analysing them. They almost couldn't believe the results. Emmy had been operating for barely three weeks at this time, and on average over the first three surgeries they found that:

  • patients on Emmy handled an average of 33 requests per surgery and working day
  • Emmy patients self-initiated 82% of all requests processed by practices in a given week
  • patients were able to select the correct request type 79% of the time
  • patients made their own appointments using the smart appointment feature for 64% of all appointmentsmade with the doctor

Timothy Young, co-founder of Emmy, stated, "I had to repeat the calculations, I couldn't believe the results the first time. Then I had to ask the doctors if this was even possible. We've had a sophisticated online appointment system in our family practice since 2013, where about 75% of our patients have an account, and yet we've only been able to fill 27% of appointments online within a week... In contrast, Emmy has been running for 3 weeks and patients have been able to make their own appointments 64% of the time. I never dreamed of that!"

In its first month of operation, Emmy processed 2935 requests , sent 3852 messages and 6134 notifications to patients (323 per business day). A total of 2326 patients have accessed Emmy.
